Perth, industrie Capital WA
Wednesday afternoon at 16:00hours I arrived in Perth after a 4hour flight (Melbourne – Perth, Tiger Air). I was pretty lucky during the flight, because all seats were taking except 4 seats in my row. So I jumped a few seats and lied down for a couple of hours. Was really relaxed 🙂 Thanks Tiger Air !
After picking up my luggage I got picked up by Max Brandenburg who’s another study friend of mine working in Perth. Thanks man! We went to his house, bought some groceries, met his house mates / colleagues, watched Federer winning against Murray and chilled for the night.
Thursday, 23rd of January, early morning (05:30u) we woke up had breakfast and went to the office / workshop of Stork. Max is a trainee working for Stork for almost a year by now. Max arranged me a little tour through the workshop and I had the chance to experience one of the services Stork is delivering. One of Max his colleagues was doing a rush job, inspecting a weld of a specific welder while I was around. This welder has to be checked before he could perform any welding activities in the offshore industry. The inspection was done with a radioactive source, checking the weld on any cracks and stuff. Conclusion: (Luckily for him) the welder passed the test :).
In the end of the morning I dropped by at BAM international / BAM Clough in Perth for a cup of coffee. I had a really good chat at the office, thanks for the coffee (& lunch)!
Just after lunch I walked over St. George square and went to the Swan river to go on a river cruise to Fremenatle. Chilling on a cruise-boat while sitting in the sun and taking some nice photos for 90 minutes was not really bad…! In the end of the afternoon I took the train all the way back to the south (via Perth) to Warnbro station, which is just a few minutes away from Max’s house. He picked me up, we bought a pizza and went home where we’ve been watching Wawrinka winning the semi finals against Berdych. Congrats Stan the Man!
Tonight…. Friday evening… Max, some colleagues and I are going to hang out in town for a drink and tomorrow (Saturday the 25th of January) I’m going to visit family !
Ciao!
